The IEEE does not insist that you become an engineer in order to become a member of the Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society. If you already have professional qualifications in another discipline, you may become an IEEE Affiliate (at a substantially reduced fee) and then enjoy all the privileges of DEIS membership, including this magazine and six issues a year of the DEIS Transactions for the normal annual DEIS fee of $20.
